EXPLORING AN EVERYDAY OBJECT

I became interested in the idea of repairing umbrellas after seeing droves of them broken and creature-like in New York City trashcans after a storm. I began to play with broken ones, and liked the idea of taking functional items and making them non-functional by cutting them up and applying materials like French lace and old makeup to them. They were then brought to life during our outdoor drone video shoot by highlighting their subtle movement in the wind. MORE ABOUT THE PROCESS
